Architecture Columbus

Columbus Signature Academy (formerly known as Lincoln Elementary School) is located at 750 5th Street Columbus, Indiana, built in 1967 with a unique feature of designing a building within a building. The principal of Columbus Signature Mr. Mike Reed, requested the designer Gunnar Birkerts, to design a unique classroom called as studio space.

The Former Republic Newspaper Building at Columbus, was designed by Myron Goldsmith /Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill, one of the ideologies of large US Firms. This modern building was built in 1971, in suburban and temperate area using steel and glass, which has two sections such as printing plant and editorial office.

First Financial Bank, is located at 500 Washington St Columbus. It was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1954, which had three stories for office and one story for bank transactions. The building built with bricks and stone, resides in the grove of trees with large rooms and open interior which gives a feeling of friendliness.

Columbus  is blessed with architectural structures and extraordinary buildings, mainly due to Cummins Engine Company, one of the largest employers in the area. They have recruited best designers and architects in the creation of this wonderful City. In 1964, Robert Venturi, designed Fire Station Number 4, in a suburban and temperate area.
